Presenting our current research study about compulsory rural service in Guatemala at Washington University in St. Louis's Global Health Symposium, organized by Kate Douglas!
Presenting with Meghan Farley Webb and Jessica Hawkins about crowdfunding for medical treatments of impoverished patients in Guatemala! We had a fruitful panel chaired by Margaret MacDonald about the visual politics of humanitarian work in LMICs.
Thanks to generous support from the Institute for Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis, we will be donating copies of Privatization and the New Medical Pluralism to Guatemalan libraries and institutions. Today, we donated our first book to the Center for Mesoamerican Research (el Centro de Investigaciones Regionales de Mesoamérica, CIRMA). Luisa Escobar and Marta Elena Casellas have added the collection to CIRMA's library and are pictured with me below. Photograph courtesy of Jessica Hawkins.
